Biography

Dennis Calamusa started his career in the packaging industry as Production Manager and Packaging Engineer for HARTZ Mountain Corporation. He was later recruited by Bosch Packaging Machinery Division where he became Product Manager for Flexible Packaging Systems, North America.

After seven years with Bosch, Dennis was offered an opportunity to manage the domestic Klockner Bartelt pouch machinery program in Sarasota, Florida. While with Klockner he was promoted to Vice President of Flexible Packaging Systems responsible for sales, marketing and engineering for the Klockner Flexible Packaging Systems Business Unit.

Dennis later went on to start (PPI) PROFILE Packaging, Inc. and ALLIEDFLEX Technologies, Inc. both Sarasota, Florida based corporations focused on the sales and marketing of global flexible packaging solutions to the North & South American markets.

Mr. Calamusa has dedicated the last 20 years of his career to consumer packaging and has supported the global shift toward innovative flexible packaging solutions by supporting all aspects of the flexible packaging supply chain. His clients include many of the multi-national consumer product and global flexible packaging companies. He has been involved in “transitioning” hundreds of successful new product / package introductions utilizing innovative flexible packaging as a key marketing component to re-invent a brand or create a new value added product category.

Dennis is a contributing editor for FLEXIBLE PACKAGING MAGAZINE and authors a regular column titled “Flexible Insights”. He is associated with the continued evolution and growth of flexible packaging in the global market. Dennis is an avid speaker, having presented at over 100 conferences and packaging venues around the world. Dennis is a professional member of the IOPP [Institute of Packaging Professionals] and is Vice President of the IOPP / Florida Chapter.
