Low Temperature Hot Melt

This high performance packaging hot melt has demonstrated aggressive adhesion to many substrates, improved mileage, fast melt rate and lightening fast set time. Companies throughout North America are recognizing the substantial benefits of this new technology. Some benefits of this exciting new adhesive include: Improved Stability: The reduction in application temperature provides a substantial decrease in the thermal degradation of the adhesive. This will provide greater consistency from the adhesive, both in application characteristics and adhesive performance. Reduced Downtime: Hot Melts tend to char over time at elevated temperatures resulting in plugged nozzles. Productivity is lost when production lines have to be shut down to replace or repair these nozzles. Evans` 07450, due to its lower application temperature and improved stability, will reduce the amount of char generated in an adhesive application system and improve efficiencies. Reduced Maintenance Cost: Hot melt application equipment can be expensive to maintain. A temperature reduction of approximately 100°F will reduce the wear on pumps and hoses in the adhesive application system and will result in fewer nozzles being replaced due to damage caused by cleaning and handling. Safety: Although the adhesive is still hot enough to cause burns, the potential for severe burns is reduced with low application temperature hot melts. Not only is the adhesive applied cooler than traditional hot melts but the associated nozzles, fittings and hoses are cooler as well. Low Odor: The VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) associated with hot melts are reduced by the lower application temperature. Although these VOC`s are not considered to be hazardous, they do contribute to the odor associated with hot melt adhesives. Efficiency: The fast set speeds of 07450 Low Temperature Hot Melt have allowed customers to improve line speeds by as much as 30%. This increase in productivity has even been documented in applications where the incumbent adhesive touted a 1 second set time. This high performance packaging hot melt is designed to provide aggressive adhesion to many substrates, improved mileage, fast melt rates and extremely fast set speeds. Recommended for most packaging applications. 07470 General Purpose Packaging Adhesive High & Low Temperature Resistant Packaging Adhesive 07475 is a high performance packaging adhesive designed to provide optimum bonding in both high and low temperature environments. General Purpose Packaging Adhesive 07485 is our most popular hot melt. Providing an ideal balance of adhesion, long open time, short set speed, application ease and service temperature range, 07485 meets and exceeds the requirements of most packaging applications. Difficult Coatings Packaging Adhesive 17005 is designed to penetrate the difficult coatings on many of today`s packaging substrates. This adhesive is extremely flexible and performs extremely well in cold environments.

07470 General Purpose Packaging Adhesive
07475 is a high performance packaging adhesive designed to provide optimum bonding in both high and low temperature environments.
07485 is our most popular hot melt. Providing an ideal balance of adhesion, long open time, short set speed, application ease and service temperature range, 07485 meets and exceeds the requirements of most packaging applications.
17005 is designed to penetrate the difficult coatings on many of today`s packaging substrates. This adhesive is extremely flexible and performs extremely well in cold environments.
Adhesives-Beverage Industry
Metalized / Coated Cartoning Adhesive 07436-000 has been specifically designed to work with 100% coated and metalized beverage cartons in high speed cartoning applications. These cartons do not posses a free stripe adhesive application area, but still must maintain the same destructive bond characteristics. 07436 is not recommended for use with standard cartons as the performance and tack levels of this adhesive are not necessary for standard carton applications. Low Temperature Cartoning Adhesive 07450-000 has been designed for use as a low temperature cartoning adhesive for the beverage industry. The adhesive will provide destruct bonds on all standard board stocks such as Riverwood, Mead, and Zumbiel. The advantages provided by 07450 include application at 250*F, reduced char formation in application machinery and a reduction in maintenance related down time due to filter and nozzle issues. 07450-000 has a proven track record for both Riverwood and Mead cartoning machines in Twin Stack and traditional case/12 pack configurations. Application speeds for this adhesive allow for up to 185 packs per minute on a typical Charger II line and 105 – 110 packs per minute on a Twin Stack line. Standard nozzle size for proper application is 0.018 inch. Multi-Purpose Adhesive 07485-000 has been designed as a multi purpose adhesive for all case / carton sealing applications in a beverage plant. As a standard temperature (350*F) hot melt, 7485 has the strength and flexibility required for the extreme conditions a typical food service application demands. This adhesive will withstand drops, de-palletizing by pulling on the side flaps, and stacking. The generous open and set time allows for manual and automatic food service production while retaining excellent performance with high speed cartoning applications approaching 200 cartons per minute. The general application weight for 7485 is 1.0 – 1.2 grams per 12 pack carton with a single side seal bead and dual top flap seal beads. The general application weight for a twin stack carton is 1.4 – 1.6 grams per carton. Application weights for water and food service are dependent on the carton weight/product count as well as the machine design. High Strength Removable Pressure Sensitive 07521-000 is a high strength removable pressure sensitive hot melt for palletizing and plastic enclosed promotional inserts. This adhesive can be used for corrugated palletizing when high strength vertical and horizontal strengths are necessary and re-stacking / re-palletizing is required. 7521 is not recommended for use with printed retail carton palletizing as the high peel strength of the adhesive can ``pick`` at the carton over print varnish. Removable Pressure Sensitive 07524-000 is a general-purpose removable pressure sensitive hot melt for palletizing and promotional inserts. This adhesive can be used with corrugated and printed retail palletizing as well as for inserted paper coupons and game pieces. 7524 does not posses the high peel strengths of 7521, but will allow for re-stack stability in a retail environment. Hot Melt Palletizing Adhesive 07563-000 has been specifically designed for printed retail and corrugated palletizing and may be used with all forms of adhesive application. This adhesive will allow for vertical and horizontal pallet strength without tearing or picking at the palletized cartons. 7563 will also allow for retail end stack stability while providing easy consumer pick up off the end stack or retail shelf. This product, under normal conditions, will not transfer to the painted / powder coated shelving in use by the retailer. Cold Glue Palletizing Adhesive LG280-000 has been specifically designed for use as a palletizing adhesive for printed retail cartons. This adhesive will allow for excellent horizontal strength, while allowing for easy carton removal from the pallet. The cold glue palletizing adhesive does not leave marks on the retail face of the carton and will not attract dust or dirt. Once the lock is broken, the cartons will not re-stick, nor will there be evidence of the palletizing adhesive. Typical application weights for LG280 are 0.2 grams per 12-pack carton and 0.3 – 0.4 grams per twin stack.

This adhesive provides a good balance of adhesion to both polar and non-polar substrates. Recommended for applications requiring high strength and temperature resistance; such as tape, roll good laminations, etc. Cold Temperature Permanent 17003 is formulated to provide excellent adhesion to plastics in low temperature environments such as refrigerators. This adhesive is designed to provide optimal performance in applications ranging from milk jug labels to pricing labels. General Purpose Permanent 07505 was developed to provide an exceptional balance of tack, adhesion and shear. This versatile adhesive can be applied by any common method of application including slot die, roll, extrusion and spray. Recommended for most applications requiring permanent adhesion and medium shear. Low Viscosity Ultra Removable 07523 is a low tack and adhesion product formulated to provide temporary adhesion to various substrates including paper. This adhesive also provides excellent removability from many high-energy substrates including glass and stainless steel. Recommended for any application requiring very low tack and adhesion properties. Removable 171010 was formulated to provide excellent removability from low energy substrates such as plastics. This adhesive is a very light color allowing it to be utilized in applications where adhesive color is a consideration. Recommended for a variety of applications including point of purchase displays, gift baskets, etc.

This adhesive also provides excellent removability from many high-energy substrates including glass and stainless steel. Recommended for any application requiring very low tack and adhesion properties.
171010 was formulated to provide excellent removability from low energy substrates such as plastics. This adhesive is a very light color allowing it to be utilized in applications where adhesive color is a consideration.
