Omnitrol Networks today announced a technology, sales and marketing agreement with Alien Technology that will enable Omnitrol to deliver real-time network edge solutions using Omnitrol platform and Alien RFID reader technology.

As part of the partnership and technology collaboration, Omnitrol Networks will deploy Alien’s RFID readers to deliver end-to-end RFID-based solutions for asset tracking, promotion monitoring, and work-in-progress visibility. The combination of Alien’s RFID readers and Omnitrol Network’s edge service engine enables the creation of real-time warehouse, factory floor, and supply chain business applications without separate middleware or back-end system dependencies.

Omnitrol Networks and Alien Technology will work together to develop a training curriculum on the use, adaptation and deployment of Alien and Omnitrol products.

With explosive growth in the adoption of RFID technology in retail, consumer goods, manufacturing process, defense, transportation, logistics, pharmaceuticals and other industries, the Alien and Omnitrol partnership will facilitate the rapid creation and deployment of real-time solutions to interact with business process to reduce cost, increase efficiency and transparency, while providing conformance to EPC global standards and practices.

Omnitrol Networks’ solutions will be demonstrated live in the Alien booth at the DoD RFID Summit in Washington, DC April 3-4, 2007.
