Victory Packaging, the leading North American full-service packaging solutions company, today announced the retirement of its chairman and CEO, Victor “Vic” Samuels. Samuels’ son, H. Benjamin “Ben” Samuels, has been named the new chairman and CEO for Victory Packaging and will be responsible for managing an estimated $700 million in annual revenues and more than 1,500 employees throughout North America.
“I have all the confidence in the world in Ben, his abilities and his leadership style,” said Vic, founder of Victory Packaging. “His vision already has proved successful with our record-breaking growth over the past three years.”
In 1995, Ben Samuels began his role with Victory Packaging as regional manager for Texas. He was promoted in 1997 to lead the national accounts group, real estate, finance and legal departments. In 2003, Ben was named vice chairman and in partnership with President and COO Robert Egan has led the company through a continued period of unprecedented growth in sales and revenues. Within the past three years, Victory Packaging revenues have more than doubled.
“Being able to blend my father’s entrepreneurial spirit and vision for Victory Packaging with new business tools and technology is going to continue to spur our upward growth throughout North America,” said Ben Samuels, new Chairman and CEO of Victory Packaging.
Vic Samuels founded Victory Packaging in 1976 in Los Angeles, California, under the name Golden State Container as a moving-and-storage supply operation. The company quickly developed a substantial niche market and by 1986 was established in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Vancouver.
In the 1990s, Vic saw the opportunity for a national company providing exceptional distribution service to customers with multiple operations. During the past 15 years, Victory Packaging has expanded its operations and services to reach across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Currently, Victory Packaging, headquartered in Houston, is one of the largest privately owned full-service packaging solutions companies in the country, operating a network of more than 70 warehouses and approximately 500 delivery vehicles, which allows for same-day and next-day delivery in virtually every city in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Backed by more than 30 years of experience, Victory Packaging has developed an expertise in total cost reductions associated with packaging, packaging design and supply chain management to offer unique solutions and customized service options to its small, medium and large customers.
