TricorBraun acquired Ryco Packaging Corp., a nationwide distributor of rigid  packaging, for an undisclosed amount, the firms said Monday.

Omaha, Neb.-based Ryco Packaging was founded in 1985 by Carl Riekes and has $140 million in annual revenue.

Ryco Packaging becomes part of TricorBraun effective immediately, according to a release. TricorBraun designs, develops and supplies rigid packaging for a variety of industries.

TricorBraun's ownership group is led by an affiliate of Code Hennessy & Simmons LLC, a Chicago-based private equity firm; its management; and Goldman Sachs. Financing for the acquisition was provided by TricorBraun's bank group led by GE Commercial Finance.

St. Louis-based Kranson Industries, which operates under the name TricorBraun, has a local staff of 67 people and employs 365 companywide. The firm ranked No. 27 on the St. Louis Business Journal's list of largest privately-owned firms in St. Louis with 2006 revenue of $541 million.
