Metalmark Capital LLC has agreed to acquire SCA Packaging North America from Svenska Cellulosa AB for US$400 million in cash. Svenska Cellulosa AB's North American operations are comprised of protective packaging, consumer packaging and temperature-assurance packaging solutions. It has approximately 2,100 employees and accounts for 10% of Svenska Cellulosa AB's total sales. The deal is expected to close during the first quarter of 2007.
The financial advisors in the deal include: Merrill Lynch & Co Inc for Svenska Cellulosa AB.
