Conversion or rebuild – the low-cost alternatives

Hochheim/Germany, August 2005. The trade fair presence of MHT Mold & Hotrunner Technology AG of Hochheim/Germany at Stand 418 / Hall A6 during this year's Drinktec (September 12-17, 2005, Neue Messe Munich) will be focused on three subjects:

• The company's high-output injection moulds with 96 and 192 cavities, respectively, which were launched just under a year ago at K 2004 in Düsseldorf, have gained an outstanding track record in volume production applications. Users praise their very high
productivity, due not least to availability rates of 98% and above.

• The conversion of PET moulds represents a cost-effective alternative to new mould investments, allowing the user to employ existing moulds for entirely new preforms (e.g., reduced perform weight or changes in the preform's length, diameter or thread).
• A rebuild (overhaul) of PET moulds, available also for moulds made by other manufacturers, may suggest itself when it comes to bringing preforms (back) to defined specifications or to raise the mould quality in general, e.g., through an enhanced core
centering design or an improved hot runner system.

On its conversion or rebuilding work performed on preform moulds, MTH grants a warranty equivalent to that for new moulds.

Other projects presented by MHT at the upcoming Drinktec include moulds for pre-forms made of polypropylene (PP), PET flakes (up to 100% recyclate), or diverse PET compounds. With an eye on global market, the company will also be showcasing successfully implemented concepts of 2-to-8 cavity moulds for the production of 5-gallon bottle pre-forms. Such containers are widely used for drinking water dispensers. In addressing the above subjects, MHT will also further intensify its successful cooperation with machine manufacturers.

The high mould making competence of MHT, which rates itself as the largest independent manufacturer of PET moulds, is reflected in the highly favorable results of the customer satisfaction analyses conducted regularly. According to these surveys, customers primarily value MHT's on time deliveries and high mould and service quality.
