Innovative Materials in Suction Cups
DURAFLEX is a revolutionary polyurethane material that combines the soft elasticity of rubber with the exceptional wear resistance of polyurethane. These unique dual-durometer suction cups are ideally suited for applications where micro-leakage can occur. Micro-leakage occurs when a suction cup does not properly seal on a handled material, such as a corrugated box.
Reliable Handling of Plastic Bags with Vacuum
The package combines PIAB’s most powerful vacuum pump, the P6010, with the company’s air-saving Cruise Control (PCC) option and new BL40-3P Polyurethane, dual durometer suction cup. Specifically designed to address the core needs of plastic bag handling, this solution is ideal for packaging applications in the food, pharmaceutical, personal care and medical industries. Until now, bag handling with suction cups has been a very challenging task, resulting in regular errors and machine stoppages. PIAB’s new plastic bag handling solution delivers higher process reliability by decreasing downtime that can result from dropped or damaged bags. Additionally, because of its unique design, users can handle a wider variety of bags to run with the same suction cup, thus decreasing changeover time.

Vacuum Conveyors
Powered by the company’s highly regarded pneumatically driven vacuum pumps, these systems safely and quietly transport up to 10-15 tons/hour of powders and granules in virtually any manufacturing or processing environment. The conveying systems are approved by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to handle dairy and food grain products. The conveyors also conform to the 3-A Sanitary Standards for Pneumatic Conveyors for Dry Milk and Dry Milk Products. The construction of the PIAB vacuum conveyors are of 316L stainless steel that is specified for the pharmaceutical and food products industries. The filter design can trap particles down to 0.3 microns and can be equipped with a High Efficiency Particle Arrestment (HEPA) filter.
