CAPE Systems through its PicRite® Robotic Palletizing System automates the building of outbound pallets for shipments.

The Robotic Palletizing System analyzes the orders to be processed and, using sophisticated algorithms, cubes outbound pallets in the most efficient manner possible. The system then stores the pallet building data for control of the palletizing robot. The CAPE system communicates with and directly controls the robot during the pallet build process. As cases are delivered to the pallet staging area, the system directs the robot to pick from the proper area and to put the case into the correct position on the outbound pallet – Robotic Pick and Placement. The Robotic Palletizing System controls the cases picked, the pallet position, the case orientation, and the layer building. The system tracks that every case is loaded onto the pallet and indicates when the pallet has been completed such that the outbound pallet can be moved to the shipping position.

In addition to building pallets, the PicRite® System can control all aspects of the order fulfillment from order wave building to sortation tracking and on through to shipment. The PicRite® System can handle order management, carton verification, labeling, inventory tracking, carrier selection, and more.

The palletizing robots provide the fastest and most efficient method of loading pallets. Increase in efficiency, precision in palletizing and elimination of physically demanding working functions are the primary advantages gained from using automated palletizing equipment. Typically they are best suited to operations where goods of standard sizes are brought to the robot for palletization.

The robots can be equipped with a variety of “end-of-arm” tools as best suited to the products being processed. Grippers and vacuum tools allow the robots to process all types of goods. The PicRite® Robotic Palletizing System is capable of controlling the movements of these varied devices.

The PicRite® Robotic Palletizing System is compatible with all major robotic palletizing systems. The system can also be adapted to handle specialized pallet loading requirements. For example, the PicRite® Robotic Palletizing System can be used to build pallets/truck loads of irregularly shaped objects. The system supports a variety of pallet staging areas and can control 1, 2 or more robotic palletizers operating independently or in concert.
