SKC, Inc., a pioneer in the packaging industry has introduced a new range of packaging films under the name PLC. These eco-friendly films are fully compostable, have a low combustion rate, and produce less discharge. These fully functional films have good heat stability and superior optical and mechanical properties.

The films range from mono layered to multi layered films. They are commonly called the Skywell series and are biodegradable in water and biomass. The key features of TE80 films include high shrinkage, good thickness, great transparency and gloss, and good link adhesion. These films ideally can be used in shrink labeling and cap sealing applications.

TE90 films are used predominantly in grocery packaging to enable low sealing temperature, high & uniform seal strength, and good dimensional stability. A special film called the Matte film, also known as the TE75, is used in U.S envelope window film applications.

SKC promises the packaging industry continuous quality, and better dimension stability with the launch of PLC films. There are some products, which are still under development.
