Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. has announced that two Canadian packaging companies have invested in new equipment from the company.

Bradford, Ont.-based Vins Plastics Limited has purchased a 10-colour Primaflex CM flexographic printing press, which will be installed in early 2009.

Vins Plastics was founded as a family-owned company in 1976, and is a supplier of sophisticated flexible packaging such as shrink sleeves and various laminated and printed products for numerous markets including food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and industrial.

"We began the process of evaluating press suppliers over a year ago and visited several installations both in the U.S. and Canada," said Vins Plastics president Jamie Vins. "The W&H equipment clearly had a better design and was of superior quality."

W&H also announced that Terrebone, Que.-based Nelmar Security Packaging Systems has ordered a second 3-layer VAREX blown film extrusion line. The company manufactures security packaging products such as deposit bags, vault bags, coin bags, evidence bags and biohazard bags.

The new line is expected to be shipped to the company's 150,000 sq. ft. facility in February.
