Alcan Packaging (Montreal / Canada; is to invest EUR 17m in central Europe, including the construction of a flexible packaging facility at Novy Bydzov / Czech Republic to supply the region’s emergent food market.

Separately, the company’s global beauty division will acquire the 7,000 m² cosmetic tubes manufacturing facility of Tubapak (Noginsk / Russia), part of Koros Group (Moscow / Russia; www.korosgroup.com). The investment and acquisition, Alcan’s first in Russia, reflect the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the fast-growing central and eastern European markets.
