National Adhesives, a global leader in adhesives technology, will be demonstrating its new revolutionary all-in-one package sealing solution, EASY-PAC at Emballage 2006.

Launched earlier this year, the EASY-PAC package includes an exceptional hot melt adhesive, used at only 90 – 100°C which means char has no chance to form. Consequently, there is no clogging of filters, hoses and nozzles - eliminating a major cause of production line downtime. The package also includes a specific brand new hot melt application unit that will constantly ensure the highest clean level of application and an integrated automatic hot melt feeder so the unit can run “alone”.

In addition, National Adhesives is providing a warranty on the EASY-PAC system – both for the application unit and the cost of any replacement parts; an industry first.

National Adhesives will also be displaying its CLEAR-LOK, CONTOUR and SYNTACOL adhesive solutions. CLEAR-LOK is a powerful adhesive with excellent transparency for clear plastic labelling of glass or PET bottles, ensuring the brand impact is high. CLEAR-LOK allows labellers to achieve a “no-look” affect using their existing wet-labelling machinery, eliminating the need to invest in PSA technology. Its unique water-based formulation ensures perfect hold of the label on the production line, and also has high washability for returnable bottles.
CONTOUR is National Adhesive’s hot melt system which enables shrink labelling of curved containers using existing roll-fed machines, at high speeds and low cost. The CONTOUR system has high levels of heat-stress resistance, ensuring a strong bond. The CONTOUR adhesive forms a secure bond at the seam, and will not flag or creep during labelling and shrinking. At Emballage, National Adhesives will be showing how the new system can increase line speeds compared with those associated with conventional shrink sleeve labelling.
SYNTACOL 310 is a new hybrid adhesive for maximum performance. High tack and fast setting, the adhesive keeps label slippage to an absolute minimum on both wet and dry glass bottle labelling applications.

Ideal for the wine, beer and spirits industries, SYNTACOL 310 is based on a unique blend of natural and synthetic polymers. This ensures reliable high performance which improves mileage with a low coat weight even on cold, wet bottles. SYNTACOL 310 offers excellent high speed production capabilities, maintaining its clean running performance up to 65,000 bottles per hour, resulting in reduced downtime for cleaning. Washabililty is maintained with warm water ensuring labels can be removed quickly.
