Sensor Wireless, Inc., the world leader in Active Wireless Sensor (AWS) Technology™, today announced it has signed a multi year manufacturing and license agreement with Food Systems Group of the Americas, to provide hardware and a license to use its AWS Operating System Firmware for FSGA’s RxCool Pharmaceutical temperature mapping and monitoring application. Under terms of the agreement SWI has exclusive right to sell FSGA a minimum of 10,000 units of hardware and will receive a quarterly license fee and royalty on each RxCool system sold, putting the total projected value of the agreement at greater than $10,000,000 USD.

SWI and FSGA have had previous working agreements for applications in Agriculture and Glass Handling systems. The newest agreement constitutes the 1st license for the AWS Operating System which Sensor Wireless commercialized in August of 2006.

Recently Sensor Wireless received the 2006 National Research Council-Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) Regional Award for New Technology.   The NRC-IRAP Regional Award for New Technology recognizes Sensor Wireless’ innovation excellence in the development of AWS Technology into a family of wireless products that are helping companies achieve greater brand integrity across their supply chains and improve visibility and reporting of remote assets through the use of satellite technology.

The AWS Operating System™ allows data to be captured from remote wireless sensor units and conditioned in a unique Sensor Communication Interface to form compressed information on the condition of assets and the environment they are exposed to. The data is then transmitted using satellite, RF, cellular or Ethernet; allowing access to the data from any high speed internet connection. Global VU™ Enterprise Software then allows users to send commands to control data capture, transmission intervals, power conservation and reporting values, as well utilize industry leading GIS mapping like Google Maps™ to report each Sensor Communication Interface position any where in the world.

The applications for AWS, the AWS Operating System™ and Global VU™ Enterprise software are directed toward the monitoring of the position of mobile or static assets while providing real time access to digital or analogue sensors such as; temperature, vibration, humidity and other conditions necessary to be monitored for safety, operation, compliance and quality control.
