 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The A-GAGE EZ-ARRAY is a cost-effective measuring light curtain designed for quick and simple installation and tough sensing applications. The EZ-ARRAY consists of an emitter and receiver and two quick disconnect cables. Controller functionality is built into the receiver and can be configured for many applications by setting the six-position DIP switch on the front. For more advanced control, easy-to-use software is included to configure the sensor using a PC. The arrays are available in lengths from 150 to 1800 mm. Programming options include 14 measurement modes, three scanning methods, two analog and two discrete outputs, plus a serial output. The EZ-ARRAY is ideal for applications such as edge and center-guiding , loop tensioning control, parts counting, and on-the-fly product sizing.

 APPLICATION

- Debarking Control: As a log moves toward the debarker, an EZ-ARRAY receiver determines the total number of beams that are blocked. It sends an analog signal to the debarking station logic controller, which determines the diameter of the log and adjusts the log grippers and debarking blades to the log`s size.

- Tire Sorting: The closely spaced infrared beams of the EZ-ARRAY measuring light curtain determines the inner and outer diameters of the tire and sends the measurements to a PLC using a MODBUS RTU-485 protocol.

- Carton Sizing: Cartons moving on a conveyor pass between three pairs of EZ-ARRAY measuring light curtains. The total number of beams blocked for each pair indicates the size, which s sent to a sorter as an analog signal. A PLC then diverts each carton to the appropriate storage location.
