Tarsus Group plc (Tarsus) has today announced a significant investment in India's booming exhibition sector with the acquisition of a shareholding in Montgomery India Ltd (MIL), a subsidiary of London based Montgomery International Limited. For Tarsus this represents a major increase in the Group's presence in India, a market predicted to deliver sustained and strong economic growth.

Both parties have identified a number of commercial and strategic benefits arising from such a partnership, not least ensuring suitable resources are available for the long-term development of an event portfolio including a number of new trade show launches. MIL has already established a strong presence organizing events targeting India's burgeoning food and hospitality, construction and intensive animal husbandry industries. These include IFE India, a leading exhibition for India's food, drink and hospitality industry, a market now estimated to be worth US$70 billion; Interbuild India, an exhibition focusing on the rapidly growing Indian construction industry: and VIV India, a new show specializing in the latest techniques for livestock farming and breeding in India.
