Northern Ireland food manufacturer White's has become the first cereal processor in the UK to adopt the Food Standards Agency's front-of-pack 'traffic light' nutritional label.
The label, which uses traffic light colours to indicate the levels of fat, salt and sugar in food, features on the company's Speedicook cereal packs.
White's becomes the fifth food manufacturer in Northern Ireland to adopt the system, following Moy Park, Avondale Foods, Mash Direct and Tasty Foods, which began using the label earlier this year.
White's is an oat millers based in Tandragee, County Armagh, and a subsidiary of Fane Valley Co-operative Society.
The firm's only retail product until 2002 was Speedicook Porridge. Growth has since come from supplying oats to UK cereal manufacturers, including Kellogg's, Jordans and Weetabix. |
