KUKA robots have an infinite variety of potential uses. To allow these to be exploited to the full, KUKA also offers unique software tools.
Application
Ready-made software packages for the most common robot applications simplify robot programming and reduce start-up times. Technologies include: software tools
- KUKA.MeasureTech- allows you to program search commands for measuring components using digital and analog sensors
- KUKA.LaserCut- for laser cutting
- KUKA.LaserWeld- programming support package with a modular structure for laser welding with KUKA robots
- KUKA.GlueTech- for controlling a range of different dispensing controllers
- KUKA.ArcTech- welding technology software package for controlling power sources with program number control
- KUKA.BendTech- supports the entire bending process by providing a wide range of inline forms (input masks for program commands)
- KUKA.PalletTech- shortens the distance from application to program
Planning
The ``KUKA.Load`` program is a tool for evaluating the load on a given KUKA robot or for selecting a suitable robot for a given load. This load can be made up of a number of elements.
System requirements: PC with Pentium CPU (min. 166 MHz), Win 9x, Win 2000, Win NT4, Win XP. Screen with a resolution of min. 800 x 600 pixels.
Simulation
The program KUKA.Sim allows you to simulate your planned application. This enables processes to be tested and, if required, optimized and validated before commissioning.
- KUKA.Sim Layout- program for creating 3D layouts for systems
- KUKA.Sim Pro- for the offline programming of KUKA robots
- KUKA.Sim Viewer- software package to view simulations created in KUKA Sim Layout or KUKA.Sim Pro.
- KUKA.OfficeLite- allows creation of programs for KUKA robots offline on any PC

- to remove work pieces from a for further local processing,
- to position work pieces on a running after local processing, etc.
Security Updates for Networked Robot Controllers
With the innovative use of Ethernet in the robotic environment, KUKA Roboter GmbH is backing an open, manufacturer-independent technology.
As the robots are installed and operated in environments that lie beyond KUKA`s sphere of responsibility, the individual environment must also be considered in its full context by the system user. It is therefore necessary for all parties- from the system supplier to the user and the service center- to be integrated into a comprehensive security concept.
Remote Control
KUKA is the first manufacturer to have put on the market robots that can be accessed over the World Wide Web, and that can inform a service technician about their status at the touch of a key. KUKA Teleservice - the fastest service of them all: via remote control software or an integrated http server, our technicians in Augsburg can inspect and reprogram your KUKA robots by modem or across the Internet - worldwide. In this way, it is possible to clear up malfunctions or reprogram a robot anywhere in the world without any need to travel. Functionality:
-
Access to KUKA robot controller data and programs
-
Rapid remote diagnosis and, where possible, elimination of errors
-
Immediate, direct online analysis of robot data using diagnostic tools
-
Software update
-
Remote support when programming and commissioning the system
