At K 2007, KUKA is unveiling the velocity-optimized KR 16 KS-S – KUKA’s answer to demands from the industry for faster and more flexible automation solutions. The shelf-mounted robots of type KS combine increased depth of the work envelope in a downward direction with a reduced intrinsic size. Moreover, the new KR 16 KS-S is 20% faster. This advantage is particularly apparent in the shorter cycle times when loading and unloading machines, e.g. injection molders.
The space-saving KR 16 KS-S, being unveiled at K 2007, is 20 percent faster than normal shelf-mounted robots. As with all shelf-mounted robots from KUKA Roboter, the Speed variant combines increased depth of the work envelope in a downward direction with a reduced intrinsic size. The high speed is a particular advantage for the loading and unloading of smaller injection molding machines with fast cycles. KUKA Robotics Corp. USA
