Overview
InkSure Technologies, Inc. (INKS:OB) provides covert, machine-readable technology ("CMRT") solutions for the protection of branded products and documents, combating
counterfeiting, fraud, and diversion. InkSure's security solutions, which are virtually impossible to "reverse engineer," provide commercially proven technology that is exclusive to the brand owner. The Technology
InkSure's innovative SmartInk™ solutions work by adding special chemical markers to the standard inks and coatings used by businesses for both their overt and covert security features. The combination of markers, inks and material produces unique electro-optical signature codes that are seamlessly incorporated into printed materials and packaging. Each customer's SmartInk formula has a unique signature that is invisible to the naked eye, virtually impossible to replicate and extremely accurate. These signature codes are identified by InkSure's proprietary, user-friendly, hand-held and/or mounted electro-optic readers. The readers verify the signature codes within seconds by emitting simple yes-no visual and audio signals. InkSure readers can even be added to a production line.
Applications
InkSure protection can be added to a wide variety of products and substrates, allowing for cost- effective and efficient multi-layered security. SmartInk technology was designed to cater to diverse industries, and is applicable to such entities as pharmaceutical manufacturers, automotive and aviation parts suppliers, consumer and luxury goods companies, financial institutions, government bureaus and ministries and transportation authorities. If it can be colored, coated, printed or packaged, InkSure can protect it.
Awards and Associations
InkSure's authentication solutions were first released for commercial sales in 2000. By April of the same year, the company had received the Product and Security Image Award for outstanding achievement in product and document authentication. In 2003, the Company garnered a second commendation. Continued technological innovation earned another award in 2006, when the Product and Image Security Foundation chose InkSure as the winner in the Development of Authenticity Products category.
