Holland, Michigan... Fogg Filler, a market leader in the design and manufacture of rotary filling systems for the liquids industry, has introduced their new F6.2 model at the recent PackExpo show in Chicago.  Fogg’s F6.2 model has been designed to increase uptime and fill cleaner than ever before!

Fogg’s new F6.2 model boasts of greater cleanliness.  The base is now sloped along the long axis removing drain ports from the filling environment which is more sanitary.  As in the F6.1 an optional feature is to have the entire base constructed of stainless steel including the base plate, ribs, gussets and everything in the base weldment which will fight against corrosion and make your machine last longer.  There have also been some improvements to the layout for electrical and plumbing runs.

The safety guarding has OSHA compliant components such as class 4 safety switches, and includes a lower skirt to prevent access to the rotating parts underneath the machine.  The guarding is now flush mounted (like the F8 and F9) which gives the machine a narrow profile and takes up less floor space.

Improvements on the starwheels have increased uptime.  There is now a new spindle/hub design that allows for quick, easy removal of the clutch while leaving the gears/sprockets engaged.  The new design also allows for independent adjustment of the taper bearings and positive clamping of the clutch.  These new designs can be applied to older machines as well.  In addition to all three starwheel clutches, and more recently the infeed screw clutch, the bowl is now clutched.  That makes the F6.2 the model with the highest level of protection ever from a F6 series machine.

The Fogg F6.2 has also made some ideal changes on the infeed screw for greater reliability.  The infeed screw is now driven by a u-joint driveshaft which reduces the number of wear parts needed and is easier to service.  They now have a hex coupler which is longer lasting.  The structure can now accommodate a larger diameter infeed screw to improve bottle registration.
