Neck Handling Technology, Valves and Enclosures
Fogg Filler offers a wide range of container neck handling technologies designed to address the specific needs for optimum performance. Fogg standard neck support provides positive container positioning during the filling process, making this simple, yet effective technology ideal for lightweight PET containers that might otherwise panel or buckle when the container opening is used to activate the contact filling valve. How It Works The incoming container moves through the timing screw into the pocket of the filler starwheel, which then transfers the container onto the pedestal and neck support fork. The pedestal neck support raises the container against the valve, which is opened on contact. The pedestal neck support lowers the container after filling, closing the valve. The container in then placed in the next pocket of the starwheel, where it transferred to the capping system. Benefits Positive placement transfer into starwheel pockets assures less spillage Allows lighter PET bottles in contact filling, including 15 gram, without bottle paneling or denting Relatively low cost Works well with other types of containers and neck styles Neck Rail A highly versatile system, Fogg Neck Rail replaces traditional starwheels and pedestal lifts with neck handling that not only provides greater control over container speed and position; it also streamlines product changeover. Neck Rail is preferred in higher throughput applications, especially those with lightweight PET containers, frequent container size changeover, non-contact filling or systems using air-conveyors. How It Works From the incoming timing screw, the container is fed into a turret by a neck-level star wheel. The channel serves two purposes: lifting the container to the valve and supporting the neck during filling and high-speed transfer. Once filled, the container exits the filling channel and enters the capping system by the neck of the container. Benefits Increased container control for higher throughput with less spillage Handles containers by the neck, eliminating changeover for bottle of equivalent neck size Integrated with tribloc rinser, filler, capper Allows lighter PET bottles in contact filling, including 15 gram, without bottle paneling or denting Ideal for gravity, pressure gravity and non-contact filling Easily fed with air conveyor Reduces mechanical systems, including lift pedestals Easier cleaning Neck Grip Fogg Neck Grip offers state-of-the-art neck handling technology for optimum run time, maximum fill accuracy and minimum change over requirements. Traditional container starwheels have been replaced by a proprietary neck clamping system that grips the container throughout filling, providing fully programmable neck support and position control. Neck Grip ``hands-off`` the container at each of the critical transfer points; at no point in the filling system is the container without a positive hold. Neck Grip is ideal for large and small containers alike, in high speed applications, and with lightweight PET containers. The neck-only handling makes this Neck Grip technology ideal for production requiring frequent container size and height changeover, non-contact filling or systems using air-conveyors. How It Works Fed to the filling system pneumatically or mechanically, the container is clamped below the neck ring, and lifted to the valve for contact filling or kept on plane for non- contact filling. Once filled, the container is transferred to a point where the next clamp grabs the neck, releasing the first clamp so that the container can be transferred to the capper. Benefits Ultimate container control for higher throughput with less spillage Handles containers by the neck, eliminating changeover required for smaller bottle of equivalent neck size Integrated with tribloc rinser, filler, capper Allows lighter PET bottles in contact filling, without bottle paneling or denting Ideal for gravity, pressure gravity and non-contact filling Easily fed with air conveyor Reduces mechanical systems, including lift pedestals Easier cleaning Valves Fogg Filler offers a comprehensive line of valves, each designed to provide accurate, fast filling in specific applications. For extended shelf life applications, Fogg offers the highly efficient CIP solutions, including the new Triline® valve. Triline® VentraFlow® All Metal Double Diaphragm External Removable Tri-Line Extended CIP Enclosures Designed for use with new or retrofit filling systems, Fogg Clean Guard™ provides up to a Class 100 environment for superior sanitation and safety in extended shelf life applications. Through a state-of-the-art HEPA air handling system, ultraviolet lamps and optional clean-in-place (CIP) plumbing, Fogg Clean Guard provides a controlled, sanitary environment while allowing optimum performance for maximum efficiency in extended shelf life and related liquid filling requirements. Fogg Clean Guard is engineered from high-quality stainless steel and polycarbonate to effectively isolate the rinsing, filling and sealing/capping process from the surrounding environment. Specially engineered HEPA laminar airflow systems provide positive pressure of filtered air down through the enclosure before being exhausted out. The positive pressure and infeed air curtain prevents outside air from entering the enclosure, yet the design allows operators to access areas of the filling system. Custom designed to meet specific requirements; Fogg Clean Guard provides application specific particulate filtration and HEPA air change cycles. Clean Guard is integrated with filling system sterilization, CIP and computer control, and can be free-standing or mounted to the base.
