CMP & Surface Finishing Materials
Surface Finishing Materials manufactures a wide range of aluminum, cerium and zirconium oxides, as well as silica polishes. These products are used for surfacing ceramic, glass, metal and plastic substrates. The CMP products find application in planarizing various levels of semiconductor chips. The metal oxides produced are supplied as powders and preformulated compositions to meet specific customer requirements. Compositions can be prepared in either, dry, aqueous or non-aqueous vehicle systems.
Aluminum Oxide: The aluminum oxide product line consists of polishing products that are produced as powders and slurries.
Cerium Oxide: Ferro Electronic Materials is the world`s leading supplier of cerium oxide polishing compounds.
CMP: Alumina and ceria powders, Aqueous slurries of ceria, Aqueous slurries of alumina, Formulated STI slurries for high and low selectivity, Formulated slurry for copper
Silica: The TIZOX® line of silica products are engineered to meet the critical needs of the semiconductor industry.
Zirconium Oxide: We manufacture zirconium oxide products which are used in specialty applications.

Porcelain Enamel
Ferro is the world`s leading supplier of porcelain enamel. Porcelain enamel has long been used as an ultimate-quality, highly durable and sanitary finish on large and small appliances, cookware and grills, as well as sanitaryware, water heaters, building panels, signage and chemical storage vessels.
The electrostatic application of porcelain enamel in a powder form, an earlier development by Ferro, continues to give manufacturers an energy-efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional wet application.
Ferro pioneered ready-to-use porcelain enamel formulations for liquid applications, which are gaining rapid acceptance by manufacturers because they require no adjustments or modifications prior to their application. New industrialized countries represent a large growth market for ceramic and porcelain, as the demand for modern convenience increases in these countries. Porcelain enamel is a glass that is bonded to metal (generally carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron or aluminum) at temperatures from 1000°F - 1600°F. Centuries-old artifacts containing porcelain enamel have been found, highlighting the permanence of the coating.
