Commercial Printing Solutions

For this form of printing it is important to print high-quality on two sides of the substrate in an effective way and with a lot of finishing possibilities like folding, sheeting, die-cutting, laminating and stacking in-line. Drent Goebel`s web-offset machines offer all this and much more.

For commercial printers working with only a small number of print sizes, Drent Goebel`s Vision and Novaprint are the presses to consider. Equipped with a turner bar and sheeter these machines can print up to 30.000 sheets an hour printing on both sides of the web. That is almost twice as much as a sheet-fed machine can offer you. Cardboard Printing Solutions

Flexible Packaging Printing Solutions  

Whether it concerns 10 µm thin film for biscuit packaging or 200 µm thick film for pouches it can all be printed on a Drent Goebel printing press. Flexible packaging is taking over the market, taking away market share from cardboard and glass. Especially when it concerns food packaging there is always the hesitation to work UV inks, therefore Drent Goebel supports Electron Beam (EB) curing on all of its printing presses.

Although the possibility of printing flexible substrates in offset was discovered on a VISION press, the VSOP press is the most suitable solution available to the market. With its easy and affordable size variability the VSOP offers an answer to all the demands from the market. Web-Fed Security Presses

Web-fed printing has several decisive advantages over the sheet-fed technique, especially when producing bank notes and other securities.

Highest Production Speeds

The most important advantage is the clearly higher production speed of a web press. The web process gives the highest output of all available security presses.

Increased Level of Control

Another big advantage is the increased level of control over production. When producing e.g. bank notes inline the complete process can be clearly supervised and documented from start to finish. On a sheet-fed press the control over quantities of used paper, such as start-up waste and any misprints, is much more difficult to achieve.

In-line Finishing Options

When producing bank notes from the reel, the web immediately goes through a line of finishing units, with all obvious advantages. At the start of the press the printer inserts the reel, and at the end completely finished, numbered and counted notes come off the production line. During this process the printer can be absolutely sure that every piece of bank note paper, printed or not, is perfectly supervised and documented.

All Security Precautions

Drent Goebel`s latest web-fed security press, which will be delivered and installed over the next two years, will set a new standard in printing bank notes. This press incorporates all the latest technical developments, such as those that were used for printing euro bank notes. This includes techniques such as intaglio printing, multi-colour offset printing, the numbering of front and back of the bank notes and screen printing to apply optically variable inks.

The press also makes use of the latest technology to inspect and control the web. In addition, it has non-stop units that ensure a smooth continuous production flow during unwinding and rewinding of the reels, and a sheeter that cuts the notes exactly down to size. Variable Sleeve Offset Printing

Variable Sleeve Offset Printing is a technology which allows you to work with variable repeat lengths in offset. The sleeve technology lets you easily change repeat lengths without having to completely change the unit. Not only is this easier and quicker, it is also a much cheaper way of printing different repeat lengths.

With this new technology, only two lightweight sleeves need to be changed when switching repeat lengths. The sleeve technology, which has greatly contributed to the rise of flexo printing, has now entered the world of offset. The VSOP is available in web widths of 520 mm, 850 mm, 1120 mm and 1250 mm.

Advantages of VSOP

Next to flexibility in repeat lengths and quick changing of jobs, the VSOP brings other huge advantages. The price of and delivery time on the image carriers is much better than it is in flexo and rotogravure printing. Furthermore, the printing-quality of the VSOP units is comparable to rotogravure printing.

In addition, because of the low production costs and quick delivery times of the sleeves and offset plates, shorter runs are also more profitable. With delivery times of two weeks for any new size, the VSOP make you more flexible. Extremely quick job changes are combined with perfect ergonomics, as the VSOP units use lightweight sleeves.

VSOP offers a total solution for various applications. With the development of a new UV-curing concept that produces extremely low odour, the machine is especially interesting for the top quality flexible packaging producers. Drent Goebel also supports other curing process like Electron Beam.

Servo Drive

Each printing cylinder has an individual servo drive. This means that no gears need to be changed and maximum register accuracy can be reached. As with other units in the press, the sleeves have their own zero-point. This means that the press automatically puts the plate cylinder and blanket cylinder in register.

The individual drive of each printing cylinder offers the possibility to vary the print length with a certain percentage without noticeable effect on the print quality. Another advantage of the individual servo drive is the possibility to increase the impression cylinder speed for each successive print station in order to print difficult substrates such as aluminium, thin film or even very thick substrates in register.

Hybrid Press

The Vision offers an enormous functionality and wide field of operation together with ultimate user-friendly and ergonomic operation. In-line with the press, a great number of other functions such as flexo print, screen print, gravure print, digital print, hot foil stamping, laminating, die cutting and sheeting can be offered.

Quick Size Change

The print towers are equipped with inter-changeable three-cylinder size groups. As soon as the size group is placed in the print tower, it automatically adjusts to the correct position. The cylinders will automatically set to the zero position. Four size groups can be changed in approximately 10 minutes.

Novaprint - Web Offset Press

The Drent Goebel Novaprint is an innovative, high-capacity web offset press. With its web-widths of 680 and 760 mm it is very suitable for the production of mailings, commercial print, labels, flexible packaging and folding carton and any other application imaginable in high-end offset.

Its assets are the operating efficiency of the newly developed print units and processing stations featuring shaftless drive technology, maximum speed during UV printing and outstanding flexibility due to their modular design. V-series - High Performance Presses
