The PaperCo has acquired Donington Packaging, an industrial packaging merchant with a turnover of about £4m, employing 12 staff.
PaperCo bought 1st Class Packaging, a Northampton-based industrial packaging materials company with a turnover of £4m, at the end of 2006. This was followed in July last year by the purchase of Parkside Packaging, a £7m turnover merchant specialising in just in time cartons and industrial packaging solutions.
Since then the company has assessed a number of potential acquisitions and Barry Hancock, who is divisional managing director of PaperCo’s industrial packaging division is delighted to have concluded this latest deal with Lincolnshire based Donington Packaging, who is recognised as market leaders in the supply of high quality packaging materials into the food processing and produce industries in the East of England.
‘Donington Packaging has demonstrated outstanding growth and success over the years since it was formed in 1982 and I am looking forward to working with what is clearly a winning team to build on the new opportunities that come with being part of a large, national service-orientated organisation,’ said Hancock.
Group managing director Alistair Gough (pictured) added, ‘The addition of Donington Packaging to our industrial packaging division further strengthens our position in the sector and continues our objective of developing a market leading position that will enable us to add significant value to our customers’ business.’ |
