Packaging printers can now proof printed jobs using the Opaltoneprinting system with what is claimed to be a versatile andaccurate digital halftone proofing system.Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) and Opaltone have secured thecertification of the Kodak approval NX Proofing System with rapidrecipe colour for use with the Opaltone seven colour printingsystem.
It is designed specifically for the saturated huesdemanded by packaging buyers to improve their products'shelf appeal.KPG and Opaltone have also announced the re-certification of theKodak approval XP digital halftone proofing system with recipecolour software.'Predictable and consistent colour is critical to thepackaging industry because brand owners rely on colour torepresent the brand and attract the consumer's eye,'said Jerry Willer, worldwide proofing product manager at KPG.'Packaging buyers can be confident when working with a Kodakapproval system user that they will see an accuraterepresentation of their printed package using the Opaltonesystem,' he added.Introduced last year, the Kodak approval NX proofing system usesthermal imaging technology to produce what KPG believes is one ofthe industry's most versatile and accurate digital halftoneproofs.Opaltone is the developer of the Opaltone seven colour process.The company offers digital colour technology and consultingservices for all print processes including: Digital, Flexography,Gravure, Lithography, Rotary Letterpress and Screen.
