In 1975, Custom Products Corporation© entered the business arena as an innovator in providing Vendor Managed Inventory Services to our clients. Our first Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) offerings were general print and business documents – hence, Custom Products’ original name – Forms Management.
Providing VMI services – getting the right product to the right place at the right time, with consolidated shipments and invoicing; has been the main focus – and driver of growth – at Custom Products for over 30 years.
Liquid Filling Integrated Solution
Situation: Local manufacturer of pulling lubricants and cleaners could not meet customer demands for product due to limited staffing, antiquated equipment.
Problem: Sales were sluggish, possibly due to the dated look of the product on wholesalers` shelves.
Solution: Client approached Custom Products Corporation to see if we could provide a cost-effective ``filling solution``. And, could our graphics department develop a more retail look for the family of products?
Our graphic design department provided several concepts for client approval, and then took the project through all the creative phases to finished art, providing a dramatic, retail look.
Our label print project managers stepped in to develop labels suitable for auto-application within our filling line.
Our packaging materials department provides bottles, pails, spouts, caps, and shipping cartons.
Our contract packaging & liquid filling department fills the liquids, labels, date codes, caps and induction seals the bottles, packs the filled product and spouts in the master shippers, providing appropriate MSDS sheets and custom-skidding for specific end-user needs.
Our warehouse steps in to distribute the product directly to the end-users, but also maintains a supply of the product on our shelves to avoid costly stock-outs for our client.
Sales are growing as a result of our ability to provide a cost-effective, high-quality, turn-key solution to our clients’ problems.
Commercial Print Integrated Solution
Situation: Client received major funding for a state-wide literacy program. Tasked with providing training materials for field faculty and literacy specialists, they bid the project to several regional:
- Ad agencies
- Commercial printers
- Contract packaging companies
Problem: The quotes provided by three separate production entities put the budget at 70% higher than funding allowed.
Solution: Client approached Custom Products Corporation for a solution. Could we design the look, format the print components, (including die-cut file folders, custom sleeve envelopes, booklets, binders, video sleeves, pressure sensitive labels, color copies, transparencies, and more), and ultimately fulfill a kitted product to the field faculty and specialists? Within their budget? On a very limited time-frame?
Our graphic design department provided two unique concepts for client approval, and then took the project through all the creative phases to finished art.
Our commercial print project managers stepped in to produce the cost-effective, high-quality, wide variety of printed components included in the kit.
Our packaging materials department provided custom totes, video sleeves, and master shippers.
Our contract packaging & liquid filling department assembled the components and packed them in master shippers.
Our warehouse fulfilled the kits directly to field faculty and literacy specialists, and inventorying the balance of kits to be fulfilled as new faculty and specialists came on board.
The project has grown over the years – from one kit for pre-school, to a program that’s helping students from pre-school through senior high improve their reading and communication skills.
