Cryotech International, Inc., a leader in liquid nitrogen delivery systems, received a patent in for its Hot Chute product. Patent number US 7,281,550 B2 titled Liquid Delivery System with Horizontally Displaced Dispensing Point (Hot Chute) was issued on October 16, 2007. The patent will remain in force for 20 years from the issue date.

The Hot Chute system consists of a heated horizontal extension and controller. Delivering an atomized dose of LN2 at line speeds up to 400 containers per minute, the Hot Chute system is a key component of Cryotech’s SoftDose technology. Cryotech’s SoftDose technology allows the LN2 to gently blanket the product, minimizing product splash and associated finished product pressure variations. As customers have a growing concern about carbon footprints and transition towards sustainable manufacturing Cryotech’s SoftDose technology is available for accurate, tightly controlled pressurization of their light-weight PET bottles.

With an extra-slim profile (tapered to 0.60") the Hot Chute is also essential for tight fit or crowded production lines. “With the additional clearance of the Hot Chute, we have the ability to maneuver around existing production components such as capper chutes. We can now install LN2 dosing systems on practically any production line,” states Gary Sandercock, President.

Cryotech injection systems are ideal for a variety of applications, including product headspace inerting and pressurization of hot-fill aluminum cans, aluminum bottles, PET water bottles, PET heat-set bottles and HDPE containers.
