The European Commission said it has cleared New Zealand's Rank Group Ltd's proposed 2.7 billon USD acquisition of Alcoa (NYSE:AA) Inc's packaging and consumer businesses.
The transaction was reviewed under the EU's simplified merger review procedure, for cases that the commission believes do not pose competition concerns.
