The development of a conformable biaxially-oriented polypropylene film forlabel facestock applications is described. Comparisons are made between the new film and traditional polyethylene films used for flexible container labeling. Results are presented to show how BOPP films with the high strength, stiffness and clarity associated with typical BOPP label facestock films, can now be prepared with the additional and conflicting property of conformability and squeeze-ability.
