The Bennington Microtechnology Center (BMC), a leader in the commercialization of sensors through innovative manufacturing, packaging, and test technology announced here today at Sensors Expo 2007 that it has formed a Process Development Partnership with Apogee Technology. The agreement provides Apogee with a manufacturing process design for their new Sensilica line of pressure sensors. This initial order includes design, development, and implementation of an assembly, packaging, and test process for Apogee's new line of pressure sensors. Included will be an initial pilot production run for process qualification and customer sampling.
"Receiving this significant order from a major sensor company with an exciting new product validates again that our modular and flexible automated manufacturing process approach supports complex process development and is extensible to volume production," said Henry Klim, Executive Director of BMC. "During our evaluation phase, BMC was extremely supportive, providing a variety of options for assembly, packaging and test. In addition, BMC is providing a comprehensive Supply Chain Management approach to manufacturing…they are taking care of all of the procurement, assembly, packaging and test activities which will free us up for what we do best…design and develop sensors. We are truly excited about this partnership," commented Dave Meyers, COO of Apogee Technology, Inc.
