PickMaster 5 saves time and offers flexibility with improved software

ABB Robotics simplifies palletizing with new and advanced customer-friendly software, PickMaster 5. Combining 10 years of palletizing experience with modern, highly flexible software, PickMaster 5 is designed to allow the highest degree of flexibility and productivity, with minimal programming, lowering engineering costs.

PickMaster 5 features:

- The ability to set the maximum speed, acceleration and axis-4 rotation with individual speed and acceleration control

- Improved calculated pick and place operations with manual adjustments such as facing, approach angle and numbers of products

- Early requests, allowing for full utilization of the robot and minimized wait time for boxes

- Collision avoidance, making it possible to add safe points for the robot to pass through, avoiding contact with other fixed equipment

- Logical flow control, which improves system redundancy, allowing the robot to adapt to changes in how products are fed and palletized. Mixing different products from many stations to one pallet is as easy as distributing loads to several palletizing stations

- Software that is easy to use, minimizing the need for dedicated robot programmers

PickMaster 5 applications are configured off-line on a standard laptop with application-specific data and transferred to the IRC5 robot controller. This configuration allows for the elimination of costly robot programming. Running independently of the PC on the IRC5 controller, PickMaster 5 can be monitored and controlled using a FlexPendant operator panel, allowing the palletizing process to be easily stopped, started and supervised.

Adhering to market trends, PickMaster 5 is standard software with full customer support. Instead of maintaining high skilled programming competence, the focus is now on developing smart solutions for end customers – with the use of PickMaster 5, production changes once only re-programmed by a systems integrator can now be performed by end customers.
