Worldwide demand for the shrink-sleeve, IML and blowmold labels from Israeli converter Tadbik Pak’s Drent-Goebel offset-gravure press has been so strong that the company recently installed a second combination press. Running at the company’s plant in Teradion, Israel, the new 26.75-in. combination press prints with six offset stations and three gravure stations—one at the beginning and two at the end.

The offset stations allow the use of fast-drying UV-offset inks and feature special sleeves that allow quick changeover between 24- and 25-in. repeats. The gravure cylinders let Tadbik Pak add rich whites, metallic or pearlescent inks, varnishes and matte finishes.“This press gives us the best of both worlds,” says Tadbik Pak’s Micah Noah. “We have the speed, flexibility and low origination costs of offset, as well as the special richness and finish that can only be accomplished with gravure. We can bring the elegance of gravure to jobs that are shorter and more cost-effective because of the offset capabilities.”

Drent Goebel’s director of marketing and sales Mr. Rob Schellekens completes; “we are very pleased that our technology did bring Tadbik Pak the increase in business they expected and we are sure that the second installation will only take them further.”
