InteCraft is pleased to introduce the M3 controller, our 3rd generation controller with advanced control strategies proven on 100+ steam tunnels over the past 10 years. The best has been made better through our quest for ongoing improvement in reliability, serviceability and performance.
Each heatset process controller is dedicated to a single steam tunnel and mates with our M3 operator station. An entire department of machines can be linked for reporting and monitoring with a single InteCraft host or supervisory desktop station. Key features include:
- extremely rugged hardware platform
- processor performs control versus operator station
- hot swappable modules enhance serviceability
- redundant processor option simplifies maintenance
- control algorithm developed specifically for heatset
- commercially available off the shelf components
Key features of the control processor(s) include:
- network interface: redundant Ethernet ports (two ports) at 10/100Mbps
- communication protocol: industry standard modbus TCP
- serial interfaces: two RS485 DB9 ports
- diagnostics: extensive self diagnostics with internal event logging
- diagnostic indications: diagnostic LED on face plus extensive on line diagnostics
- redundancy: optional 2nd processor provides bumpless failover
- programming: automatic & complete programming of 2nd processor by 1st processor
- hot pluggable: remove and insert processor under power (bumpless if redundant)
- communication with I/O modules: rail bus (high speed parallel bus)
- remote I/O: remote I/O over Ethernet capable
- operating environment: -40ºC to +70ºC
- power supply: 10.9 to 12.6VDC at 0.4Amps
Components such as the Input/Output Modules have key features including:
- diagnostics: self diagnostics with alarms reported on op station
- indications: diagnostic LED on modules faces and extensive on-line diagnostics
- wiring terminations: simplified by feed-through of instrument power to terminals
- quick change out: no unwiring or addressing to swap out modules
- module protection: keyed sockets prevent plugging in the wrong module type
- hot pluggable: remove and insert modules under power and while operating
- communication with processor(s): rail bus (high speed parallel bus)
- expansion capability: up to 58 additional modules on rail bus, plus remote I/O
- remote I/O: remote I/O over Ethernet capable
- operating environment: -40ºC to +70ºC
- module power supply: 12VDC
- field instrument power supply: 24VDC
All software is commercially available: wonderware factory suite software on operator stations and supervisory station; standard automation matrix workbench for controller programming and advanced diagnostics.
