Biography
Paul Butler is a materials science specialist with interests and experience in smart materials, smart packaging, RFID, printed electronics and nanotechnology. He spent the first half of his career in academia, with positions at the University of California and the Department of Materials at Imperial College, London followed by over 20 years technical/R&D experience in the rigid packaging industry.

Currently a consultant for the packaging industry on consumer aspects of packaging innovation and smart packaging (www.smartpackaging.co.uk), he is also an academic visitor in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford. He has written two books on smart packaging – “Smart Packaging” and “Consumer Smart Packaging” available from www.idtechex.com.
