A Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI), also sometimes called Vapour Phase Inhibitor (VPI), is a method of corrosion protection.
- The inhibiting process begins when the protective vapours disseminate in an enclosed space (through vaporisation) where a thin layer is created on the metal surface. The protection remains as long as the product is in the enclosed space. - Once the content is removed from the package, the VCI layer re-volatilises, leaving a dry and corrosion-free product. - Nefab works with VCI free from nitrites giving a major environmental advantage.
VCI can be provided in the following forms:
- paper - PE-foam - bags - emitter cups - cardboard |
