A shrink wrap tunnel which operates with gas heaters instead of electricity has been unveiled by German packaging company KHS AG.
The KHS Innopack Kisters shrink tunnel has numerous environmental advantages, the company says.
According to KHS use of a gas heater can cut energy costs by up to 50% and has a shorter heat-up phase, which also increases efficiency.
KHS says the tunnel can be used for all packer models to finally wrap food, beverage and non-food products in virtually wrinkle-free plastic film.
