DIA10 dual-arm robot from Motoman, Inc., West Carrollton, OH, features 15 axes of motion with 10-kilogram (kg) payload/arm.
Actuator control packs more power in smaller space than traditional AC servo motor-driven robot. Advantages include slim arm profile, lightweight robot body, internal utilities, high wrist movement, inertia ratings. At PACK EXPO Las Vegas, 15-17 October 2007 at Las Vegas (NV) Convention Center, DIA10 robot will open, pack boxes.
Booth also features EPL 160 palletizing robot equipped with four-axis servo gripper capable of handling payloads of 160kg. In live display, gripper picks multiple products off conveyor, rotates to reorient products on the fly. Slide feature creates tight loads.
Third demo consists of two YS650L SCARA robots integrated with vision system from National Instruments Corp., Austin, TX, in simulated case packing application.
