The Compactline 2.5 thermal inkjet coder, in its new, redesigned form, is a real innovation.The system’s special features include separate print start and speed control for two print heads.This means that products can be marked at various points during production, even at variable conveyor speeds, dispensing with the need for an additional control unit.

Depending on requirements, the system can be used to apply product names and descriptions, manufacture and sell-by dates, barcodes, graphics and much more, at a maximum character height of 12.5mm - or 25mm when two print heads are connected in one production line.

ECC200 data matrix codes can also be printed. This allows the Compactline 2.5 to fit even more information into an even smaller space. The Editor 3 software’s barcode input menu is very simple to use. Even at fast cycle speeds, Compactline 2.5 data matrix codes can be printed with variable content - and with outstanding quality.

The system will mark both sides of solid and corrugated cardboard cartons and trays on the packaging line itself. Variable data units can be combined quickly and easily using action fields without having to be entered more than once. Data can also be read in directly using a scanner. As operation is self-explanatory throughout, the device is virtually fail-safe.The print preview function means that print jobs can be given a final check before the Compactline 2.5 starts work.

A counter registers the printed texts. This means, for instance, that the number of coded products per batch can now be determined in advance.

To save time, the system also has an automatic direction changer enabling texts to be printed at right angles to the direction of feed (printing on both passes, right to left and left to right in a scanning motion).

Compactline 2.5 uses tried and tested HP thermal inkjet printing technology to give very reliable and crisp results. Depending on the task, printing at a maximum resolution of 600dpi at 30m per minute is possible.
