At the CFS stand D-050 in hall 6 at Anuga FoodTec (Cologne Germany, 10 to 13 March 2009), visitors experience the latest examples of Lifecycle Performance: the CFS PowerPak thermoformer for medium-sized production capacities, and the CFS TiroLabel, the first cross-web labeler in the world that works entirely without machine interruptions for reloading. These innovations increase operational efficiency – and therefore lower costs.

CFS PowerPak- more flexibility, more performance
The CFS PowerPak is a thermoformer that meets the constantly changing requirements of the market by redefining standards of performance, process consistency, investment security, cost efficiency and flexibility. The innovative machine concept is tailored to the needs of medium-sized production capacities, and handles film width of 320, 360, 420, 430, 520 and 560 mm, draw depths up to 130 mm, an index length up to 650 mm and processes up to 150 packs per minute. The sanitary design of the CFS PowerPakRT is in accordance with ISO 14159, EN 1672, AMI and NSF/USDA 3A.

The CFS PowerPak highlights the principles of CFS’s ‘Lifecycle Performance’ philosophy by concentrating on factors that improve the machine owner’s performance from start to finish: from support in developing innovative products to cost reduction measures and enhancing productivity. CFS TiroLabelNT: Label Changing without Downtime
Downtime for changing label reels or torn backing material is now a thing of the past thanks to the CFS TiroLabelNT, a completely new labeling concept that delivers non-stop performance. It is the first cross-web labeler on the market that allows label reels to be changed while the machine is running – made possible by separating the label dispenser and applicator unit into two modules. Furthermore, smooth servomotor technology minimizes tearing of label backing paper. The unwinding unit can take reels with a diameter up to 500 mm. These factors contribute to higher line capacity, therefore increasing efficiency and lowering costs.

The CFS TiroLabelNT can be mounted on the CFS PowerPakRT and its higher capacity brother, the CFS PowerPakNT. The modular construction enables it to be upgraded from a basic model to a high-performance solution. The CFS TiroLabelNT is the only labeler in the world with a spring-loaded finger system, which allows standard or special label shapes to be positioned quickly, securely and accurately, even on irregular surfaces. Labeling occurs at the maximum cycle speed without damaging the packaging, and ensures 100% uniformly on labeled and branded products.

Cleaning is simplified by enabling the label applicator to be decoupled from the machine so that can be integrated in the cleaning process. Safety enhancements include placing the reference drive conveniently outside the safety guards while all hazard-moving parts apart from the label applicator are positioned inside.
