RocTool and Pole Europeen de Plasturgie have signed an exclusive concession agreement for the patented Cage System® , destined for the transformation of thermoplastics by injection. The Cage System® , patented by RocTool in 2004, is the only process in the world, capable of heating and cooling the surface of the mould and only the surface practically instantly. RocTool’s technology, was intended for composite transformation and is now open to injection. This agreement is for a duration of 5 years for R & D centres in France.

Cage System® Trial Platform Installation for Injection

The agreement foresees the installation of the Cage System® technology demonstration pilot for plastic injection: for the first time, industrialists can try the Cage System® at a trial platform with RocTool staff installed at Oyonnax.

At PEP, our clients will have access to demonstrations and trials at an inferior cost compared to the investment that would have been normally necessary declares Alexandre GUICHARD, RocTool’s CEO.

The pilot will be operational from October 2008. It will be open to manufactures, resin suppliers and others within the transportation industry (automobile parts such as panel work and interior), TV & computer accessories, telephones, and all other parts where surface quality is essential. RocTool will finance the complex tools for the demonstration, while PEP will pay for the peripheral equipment and installation of the pilot.

PEP has an impressive trials centre, equipped with 9 injection presses ranging from 15 tonnes to 2200 tonnes. To acquire a licence of technology “Cage System®”

For RocTool, the signing of this agreement with PEP allows them to continue alterations of the Cage System® into the plastic injection field. This is also the opportunity to assure demonstrations for potential clients who would like to acquire the license for this technology. It was logical to choose PEP for our first injection technology pilot because they are the R & D reference in France, comments Alexandre GUICHARD. For this reason RocTool also benefits from PEP’s expertise and know-how. We have an ambitious calendar for our technical demands which is why we need dynamic R & D centre. Our clients will have the possibility to perfect and qualify this process in the trials centre at PEP, which is dedicated exactly for that .

The 28th and 29th of October 2008, approximately 400 companies world wide will be present at PEP to discover a demonstration preview of this innovation.
