Polymer Logistics, the Netherlands-based distributor of plastic packaging to supermarkets such as Asda, J Sainsbury and Tesco, fell 26½p to 35½p after a profit warning. It blamed the negative outlook on factors including rising costs of polypropylene and a dispute over a payment due from a customer.

Collins Stewart, its house broker, said: “This second cut to forecasts in six months undermines management credibility.” It cut earnings-per-share forecasts for the current year from 6.1p to 3.8p.

Netstore, the IT outsourcer for mid-market companies, rose 5½p to 23½p after it said that it had received a bid approach and that current trading was in line. However, it also said that profits had been overstated up to the end of last June. George O’Connor, of Panmure Gordon, said that bidders could include a management team and industry rivals, such as Phoenix IT, steady at 258¾p, and Computa-center, up 1p at 165½p, or a private equity-backed vehicle, such as Elder-street.

Braemore Resources, the nickel and platinum miner, rose 2½p to 16½p after it said that the first three months of smelting platinum at its South African plant had proved successful, despite problems with power supply.

Vislink, the provider of video screens for big events including the football World Cup, rose 5¾p to 45¾p after Southwind, Bob Morton’s vehicle, increased its stake from 4.1 to 5.1 per cent. Results are due next month.

Pantheon Resources, the explorer in the Gulf of Mexico, fell 8½p to 26½p after it said that it was abandoning one of its key wells after the drill pipe once again became stuck.

Talk that Allianz has taken a stake in Hertford International pushed the data card producer down 1p to 40½p. Software Radio Technology, the provider of digital walkie-talkies and marine tracking systems, rose ½p to 35¼p on news that Gartmore had increased its stake to 16.5 per cent.
