Underscoring its unique ability to provide generic pharmaceutical manufacturers with a platform for artwork and process management, Perigord Group today unveiled ToolTrace®, an online application to record and reference toolset configurations and plan part requirements for future use. Print production toolsets are made up of interchangeable parts that are assembled in specific configurations depending on the application requirement. ToolTrace enables manufacturers to record and reference toolset configurations and provides a clear way to see which parts are required for present and future products.
ToolTrace complements Perigord’s GL-AMS artwork management platform and according to Alan Leamy, Chief Executive Officer, Perigord Group, it reflects the company’s commitment to provide customers in the generic pharmaceutical market with a robust, functional backbone accompanied by modular applications that can be configured into near-custom solutions and ultimately, make generic pharmaceutical manufacturers more efficient and successful.
“The pressures of the generic pharmaceutical industry are weighty and unique,” Leamy noted. “Once drugs come off patent, time to market is a critical determinant of success in securing contracts for own-label manufacturing. Any preparation that can be made in advance — such as tool selection and configuration — will shave critical, valuable time off the production cycle.” “We’re making it our business to work with generic drug manufacturers to closely examine their manufacturing and marketing processes to identify areas where best practices can be systematized and time saved,” Leamy continued. “Our mission is then to build modules to streamline the processes and deliver these savings!”
ToolTrace is a centrally-located Internet application that does not require client software. It features a range of wizards for user-level automation; document handling tools to manage a vast array of document types; a store feature to enable management control of the issuance and return of tool components; a series of security and audit features to monitor and manage sign off with time and date stamped; search and configuration capabilities with real-time information on the availability and location of parts and paper-less report generation of efficient, centralized management and control.
ToolTrace can be configured by the number of machines, operators, new toolsets requirements, component types, report requirements and a range of other variables. Once it is initially set-up and implemented, it immediately delivers savings in time and cost while increasing security as well as tool, machine and operator efficiency.
“By streamlining workflows and improving accountability and security, ToolTrace enables our customers to work smarter,” Leamy added. “Now more than ever, the GL-AMS platform and accompanying suite of applications are more compelling and useful than ever before.”
