On 12 May 2006, the Körber Group takes over the carton manufacturing business of US packaging materials specialist H.S. Crocker Corp. Inc. in Philadelphia. The division specialises in the development and production of folding cartons for the pharmaceutical industry, which generates 90 per cent of sales. At the same time, the business will be continued with the existing 30 employees by Rondo-Pak Inc. in Valley Forge (Philadelphia).

Rondo-Pak is a fully owned subsidiary of Rondo AG (Allschwil, Switzerland).

Gerhard Breu, CEO of the KÖRBER MEDIPAK Group, has this to say about the acquisition: “This acquisition reflects the Körber Group’s consistent expansion of its systems business in the pharma packaging area, especially in the USA, the world’s largest pharma market.”
