Bosch Packaging Technology is the leading supplier of holistic systems in the world of packaging and process technology. This includes comprehensive servicing but now also audits, consulting and engineering, start-up support or the partial operation of installations. Bosch Packaging Technology's expertise is now reaching much further than just technical know-how. The company is a one-stop provider and an important partner for the pharmaceutical, confectionery and food industries.
2007: A successful trading year
With around 4 400 associates worldwide, Bosch Packaging Technology has a global presence at 30 locations in 14 countries. Through organic growth and acquisitions the company was able to increase sales in 2007 by around 14 per cent compared to the previous year - to 650 million euros overall.
"We benefit above-average due to the positive economic conditions in 2007", says Friedbert Klefenz, President of Bosch Packaging Technology, at the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf. "Our business model has made an important contribution to this success: Bosch answers to customers' needs, provides a reliable and top-quality service and leads the way through innovation. Today we are occupying a broad and international position with our products and services. This means that we are able to
respond to customer requirements, in many different sectors and in various regions of the world."
In 2007 the company realized 88 per cent of its sales outside of Germany. Over 50 per cent of deliveries were made to countries outside Europe. Bosch Packaging Technology has also been able to increase its business in Asia. Aside from the activities in China, operations in India were expanded and the company opened a new plant in Goa. The Asian sales increased by 3 per cent to over 100 million euros.
Recognizing trends and offering the right solutions
The global market for packaging machines has been growing steadily in the last few years to reach a level of around 22 billion euros. Especially european suppliers were able to benefit from this growth. The dominant economic trends in the market environment, however, have hardly changed at all. These trends have in fact stabilized and are gaining in importance. In the pharmaceutical, confectionery and food industries, for instance, cost pressure is increasing further. Producers are acquiring flexible packaging and process technology to be able to adjust to ever shorter product life cycles and to achieve a reduced time-to-market. In order to help producers meet these challenges, Bosch Packaging Technology offers scalable automation, fast batch changeover operations, a broad choice of formats, an optimal price-performance ratio through modular machine design, as well as customized service packages ensuring an efficient and economical production process.
Bosch - innovative and versatile. Exhibits at this year's Interpack
Bosch Packaging Technology's presence at this year's trade fair is concentrating on the pharmaceutical, confectionery and food sectors. On 2 000 m2 the company is presenting over 50 exhibits. These are underlining the company's power of innovation, versatility and competence for system solutions.
