Multisorb Technologies, the world leader in advanced active packaging technology, announced today the appointment of Robert Sabdo to the position of Business Development Leader, Food & Beverage Packaging. In this role, Sabdo will be responsible for expanding Multisorb’s business in diverse food and beverage packaging applications, including case-ready meat, processed meats, organic and natural foods, bakery, cheese, refrigerated prepared foods and beverage containers.

Sabdo has over 36 years of experience in the packaging industry, with in-depth knowledge of active packaging technology and its numerous applications in the food and beverage industry as well as the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, dietary supplement, and electronics markets. During his 10-year tenure at Multisorb, Sabdo has worked as a Business Development Leader for diverse markets, including diagnostics, electronics, and specialty packaging.

“Bob’s recent appointment demonstrates our commitment to continuously invest in serving the food and beverage industry,” says James V. Renda, executive vice president and COO, Multisorb Technologies.  “His extensive industry experience and expert understanding of active packaging technology will bring significant value to our food and beverage customers who are constantly faced with the challenge of increasing the shelf life and protecting the integrity of their products.”

One of the major focuses for Sabdo will be the rapidly expanding organic and natural foods market.  “The rising popularity of organic foods presents an attractive opportunity,” he says.  “To support food manufacturers in this market, Multisorb has developed technologies that enable popular products to reach store shelves without the risk of oxygen- and moisture-mediated degradation.”

Prior to joining Multisorb, Sabdo served as Sales Manager at Philips Joanna in Ladd, IL, where he led global marketing, development, sales, and technology services. Sabdo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science from Michigan State University. He is a member of and an AmeriStar Judge   for the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP).
