Editorial

NITA Equipment is our newsletter sponsor this week. They specialize in the manufacture of labeling equipment, which include print and apply labeling machines, wrap around labeling systems, and more.

Insignia and Domino have developed an alliance which has strengthened with time to provide customers with high quality coding and marking products.

Today, distribution facilities face pressure to contain costs and increase throughput. These companies can do both with the introduction of Sealed Air Corporation's I-Pack Void Reduction System which fully automates the processes of corrugated tray forming and lidding.

Tracking Reusable Metal Shipping Containers Using Passive RFID
Author     :  Michael Goertz
Company :  Avery Dennison
In an effort to increase the efficiency of our customers shipping and handling of goods using reusable metal containers, Avery Dennison has evaluated the effectiveness of various Passive UHF RFID solutions for use in this process. The evaluation focuses on tracking large steel shipping containers and their contents as part of a parts distribution system. This study looks at two main problem areas: tracking the containers throughout their lifetime using permanent durable hardtags, and using standard print, encode, and apply RFID labels as shipping labels.
