Editorial

The packaging industry is regularly coming up with different types of products to support the food and beverage industry.

Target has introduced new packaging for its Archer Farms natural and organic cereals. The cereals are now sold in rounded `streamlined` cereal boxes without the need for an inner plastic bag holding the cereal. The new packaging also features an easy flow spout and snap shut reclosable lid to maintain freshness.

Options in Flexible Package Wrap
Author     :  Katherine Putnam
Company :  Package Machinery Company
The critical concerns when wrapping a package vary. In some cases, it is a barrier seal on the product to preserve freshness, in other cases it is simply to ensure that the product has not been tampered with. Other reasons to wrap include cosmetic appearance – critical to catching the eye of the consumer, or bundling - to keep a collection of products together. In some cases the film carries the product message; in others it is an enhancement to the message on the packaging beneath.
