- Linear PME for maximum flexibility in package design
- Output of up to 55 packages per minute
- Clean90 package transport system for ergonomic operation and easy cleaning
Bosch Packaging Technology introduces the linear PME package maker. This new vertical package maker is aimed at suppliers of dry food products and has medium output levels of up to 55 bags per minute. It is available in two installation lengths: PME 4101 with 10 stations and PME 4161 with 16 stations, with the additional stations providing the producer with added format flexibility.
Due to its modular design, the PME series is easily adaptable to packaging designs of varying shapes and sizes, allowing food producers significant flexibility when reacting to new market trends. The machines are suitable for bags with filling sizes ranging from 75 to 3710 cubic centimeters and filling weights of up to 2.5 kilograms. They can process various formats, including bags with flat or stand up package top, tin-tie, adhesive tape, or resealable labels. The machines can also process "peelable" top seams with ergonomically shaped handles for easy opening or edge-sealed stand-up bags for attractive point-of-sale presentation. Format sizes within the following ranges can be processed: 50 to 140 millimeters in width, 30 to 100 millimeters in thickness, and 50 to 265 millimeters in height.
The linear PME is available with an integrated Clean90 package conveyor. At the point of discharge, the conveyor turns the packet guides only 90 degrees instead of the standard 180 degrees, ensuring that any product residue drops into a special container mounted directly underneath the package conveyor. The horizontal 90 degree position of the retracting
package pocket saves vital space below the discharge track. Its ergonomic installation height, well-arranged design, and easy accessibility of all stations are further beneficial features of the linear PME.
The machine is suitable for free-flowing products including coffee, tea, sugar, pasta, confectionery items, pet food and detergents. For producers of oxygen-sensitive, degassing, or fermenting products, the package maker can be upgraded to include product protection systems. Bosch offers integrated vacuum stations, as well as a system that displaces oxygen contained in the package by flushing it with inert gas. These two systems may be integrated jointly or individually in the PME line. Applicators for attaching inside or outside aroma protection valves to the packaging foil are also available.
