The construction of the new CFS factory in Kempten-Bühl was officially kicked-off with a ground-breaking ceremony. Completion of the new building is expected in September 2006.

With an official ceremonial act the construction work of the new factory was kicked off. The new building will have a production floor-space of 6,600 square metres with a further 2,200 square metres for offices. From September 2006 on some 240 employees will work in the new building to produce peeling, slicing, loading and traysealing equipment. The reason for this investment is continuous growth in both business areas of CFS in Kempten, which are the production of traysealer, slicers and related equipment and the production of packaging materials. “It was clear we could not continue to increase production for both equipment and packaging materials in the same factory. At some stage we would run out of space and options”, explains Hans Schwaebe, Site Manager CFS in Kempten.

Investments for upgrading the existing factory in Kempten
Once the new factory is complete, the existing factory in Kempten will exclusively manufacture packaging materials, with focus on 3D shrink bags, shrink / skin / lidding films and CFS’s rigid PP based eXbase and C-base structures. CFS will make major investments in the infrastructure as well as the production equipment of this factory to make it a state-of-the-art packaging materials production facility.
